KINSON PHOTO CLUB COMPETITION RULES (Revised May 2023)

 

GENERAL

 

Only members who have paid their annual subscription are eligible to enter the competitions.

 

Manipulation of the photograph is permitted but all component parts of the final image must be entirely the work of the photographer. For example, it is permissible to drop in another sky that the member has photographed but it is not permissible to use a sky from another source e.g. stock library photo.

 

For all competitions there is an entry fee of 50p per image.

 

PRESENTATION

 

Prints - All prints should be mounted. The mount should be no smaller than 10”x8” (256mm x 205mm) and no larger than 19.7”x15.7” (500mm x 400mm).

All prints must be identified on the rear with the members name and the title of the image in the top left corner.

DPIs - All entries should be sized to be up to a maximum of 1400 pixels horizontally AND up to a maximum of 1050 pixels vertically and should be in jpeg and sRGB format.

Entries should be given a filename containing just the title e.g. Pretty Flower.jpg.

Entries should be submitted to the Competition Secretary on a memory stick or by email two weeks prior to the competition date.

 

LEAGUE COMPETITIONS

 

New members would normally join the Members League but may be promoted to the Advanced League at the discretion of the committee.

 

Print Entries - A maximum of 3 colour prints and 3 monochrome prints may be entered into each competition.

DPI Entries - A maximum of 5 images may be entered into each competition.

 

At the end of the season, the top scorers in the Members League will be invited to move into the Advanced League.

 

ANNUAL COMPETITIONS

 

For the annual competitions there is no distinction between Members and Advanced Members.

 

Monochrome Print of the Year -

A maximum of 3 prints previously entered into the league competitions may be submitted.

Colour Print of the Year -

A maximum of 3 prints previously entered into the league competitions may be submitted.

DPI of the Year -

A maximum of 5 images previously entered into the league competitions may be submitted.

Memorial Cup -

A maximum of 5 prints either colour or monochrome or a combination of both may be submitted.

The committee reserves the right to amend the competition rules if and when necessary.
